She asked:

What if…

What if your words really could change the World. What would you say?

Imagine, just for a moment, what would it be like if you had a megaphone and could say anything you wanted to the entire World. What would you say?

I was intrigued, perplexed, amused, bemused, casually confused, oddly aroused, and an octopus of other emotions. I felt both brave and afraid at the same time. I imagined being heard and being silenced. I was the Voice that I heard inside. I heard my own Voice from a perfectly timed question.

So let’s imagine that she’s right: let’s say that I can speak to the world; what would I say?

First, I would say I love you.

The most important thing that we need to know and hear and feel right now is love. We need to hold our people close. Give from our hearts. We need to trust again. We’re told and shown every day a million reasons not to trust others, we’re told a million more that we shouldn’t trust ourselves, and we doubt, and question, and wonder, and nothing is sacred, special, or safe anymore. Trust is a currency of old, we only deal in digits representing other digits representing money or metrics or false ideals. Trust used to mean something. A word — your word; honor. It meant integrity. It meant safety. It meant security. At every level, it meant community. Somewhere, some of us have lost our way.

Trust is a currency of old.

We’re lost in the sea of mesmerizing digital distractions, day in and day out. We’re lost to schedules and agendas and meetings and gatherings and events and people and places and moments and not moving but trying to move — we’re lost to normal. Worst of all, we’re often “lost” to ourselves.

What would change if we only took a moment?

If we took a moment, each of us, at a convenient time in the day, and stopped our action to focus…
