She Goes by Hope

The Many Sisters of Darkness

She yearned to be more like her other sisters,
perhaps grateful like Gratitude or even passive like Peace.

Maybe when she grew up she could be like
adorned with golden fleece.

Yet too much time spent toiling
with her

Caused her to be clouded by
consumed by the all-consuming
just like all the

She dreamt of brighter days,
where the Sun would Light
her dreams.

She called out her own
and Hoped for greater

Fixed between a breeze
and storm,
She lit her little

And held herself
full of Hope,
to get her through
each night.

(Writing prompt: Jeff Ehren — Poetry on Hope)

I love to rhyme, often sensually. I have to write, otherwise insanity. I leave my heart on paper. Feel free to feel my feels. I comment lovingly and completely.
