Those Most Fond To Wonder
A Journey Through Space & Time
It wasn’t until I tried to explain it to another person that I finally understood it myself.
This was odd, of course, since the subject was myself.
I learned from being a poet
not to let the moment slip —
capture it
keep it, hold it —
then set it free with word
as swiftly as possible.
I’ve spent a life with wonder about what would and could ever possibly be,
never once knowing
what time meant,
especially for me.
I’ve always wondered why I was here,
as equally as why are we all,
now I know quite suddenly so
the curiousness of my call.
I sense the world, as poetry,
I watch, I wait, I learn, I teach, I see
in a particular way
like a lens or filter or komorebi collection
then I offer it back
through symbolic word energy
as a practiced art
of rehearsed recollection.
