Author’s Note: Above is how my poem is intended to look. Below is how it looks due to the formatting limitations of Medium. I believe that spacing in poetry can be as impactful as the poem itself.
Jupiter moons are now orbiting closer to
The earthquake shakes away
My bones are strong and will not break.
The other side is as close as her breath…
she loves me.
There is no limit to the amount
of chocolate-covered pleasure cubes we
can have. The room is loaded like an
anxious gun. I’ve been hit hard with
and I feel like
yet I still have one thing left to do —
Ripping free all bandages that
cover my aching sword — it shall be unsheathed.
I will chop at darkness until I can see
All for one last fraction of justification.
Blood, flowing like water, warms my hand
and still I fight.
The man I battle has alligator teeth and a mind
greater than the moon. He knows the pressure
How will I defeat such a man?
